Field Application Engineers are the primary technical resource for the field sales force, and are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the product promotion process, and/or the product verification at the stage of the customer product qualification process. Working in conjunction with the sales/marketing team as the technical advisor and product advocate, the Field Application Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the product promotion and qualification process. The Field Application Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the working cycle.
REPORTS TO: Director, Customer Support
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain expert level of product knowledge and application, especially in the telecom network applications domains such as Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH), Home Networking and/or Fixed Wireless Access, etc.
Provide design and specification development support to customer’s engineering team.
Assist in the design and development of new products to make customers comfortable
Travel to project sites to preform start-up, integration, and training services
Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives.
Provide status of ongoing projects and future projects, and coordinate the internal and external resource to support the customer.
Perform technical/ product training for sales and marketing people and engineers at target accounts.
Articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.
Listen, understand and convey customer requirements.
Support the product management to respond the functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
Maintain professional business relationships within target accounts.
JOB REQUIREMENT:
EDUCATION:
BA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent successful experience in telecommunication or data communication industry.
Experience 2 Years in Engineering
A solid understanding of network communications technology – Ethernet, VLAN, TCP/IP, PON, DSL, etc.
A solid understanding of telecom network architecture.
Familiar with popular onsite diagnostics tools, and able to run the test script for the issue debugging.
Strong communication, Interpersonal and organizational skill
Available for Travel 25% or more
EXPERIENCE:

Read the embedded software source code and have a solid understanding of the embedded software system.

JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-oriented Sales Application Engineer (SAE) with expertise in networking technologies, including Wi-Fi routers/extenders and wireless mesh networking. In this role, you will be the technical bridge between our customers, sales team, and engineering group. You’ll help customers successfully evaluate, integrate, and optimize our networking solutions in commercial and residential environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build strong relationships with customers.
Provide pre- and post-sales technical support for networking products (Wi-Fi routers and extenders).
Assist customers in configuring and optimizing products for their specific networking needs.
Troubleshoot customer issues in real-time, both remotely and on-site, and coordinate with engineering teams for deeper technical investigations.
Generate technical documentation, configuration guides, and application notes.
Stay up to date on industry standards (Wi-Fi 6E/7, smart home integration, mesh networking, etc.) and competitor solutions.
Provide feedback to engineering and product management based on customer needs and field insights.
Occasionally assist with product demos, technical training, and onboarding of potential customers.
Document test experiences, test results, and prepare test reports.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical management or related field.
3+ years of experience in sales engineering, solutions engineering, or technical sales support.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Strong customer interaction skills.
Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPN, QoS, etc.) and wireless standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be).
Ability to setup and maintain Windows and Linux servers, Virtual Machines.
Experience with Wi-Fi diagnostics tools and performance analysis (e.g., Wireshark, iPerf, IxChariot, NetSpot, etc.).
Willingness to travel up to 40% for customer visits, events, and trade shows.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity with home automation or smart home ecosystems.
Experience supporting ISPs.
Experience with embedded systems, firmware testing, or custom firmware (e.g., OpenWRT, prplMESH, OpenSync, EasyMesh).
Experience using Atlassian Confluence and Jira collaboration tools for documentation, project management, and issue tracking.
WORKING CONDITIONS:

Defines and implements advanced test methodologies for wired and wireless home networking solutions. Develops and supports stability, stress, and performance testing capabilities. Collaborates with development and product line management teams to reproduce and debug field issues, integrating these findings into the internal test scope and expanding test coverage accordingly. Generates and presents comprehensive test reports to both internal and external customers. Designs test strategies and scenarios for corner cases and negative cases. Reviews customer requirements and establishes test setups to emulate end-user environments. Works closely with the software team to develop advanced test scenarios for new products. Configures and maintains soak and stress test environments. Partners with the software team on design flow and generates test cases to evaluate all possible states. Engages with various functional teams to ensure product requirement compliance and designs and develops test scripts to automate diverse test scenarios.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, implement, and test firmware for optical transceiver products. You will work with PM, hardware, system, and test engineers to deliver high quality firmware and products.
Create test scripts and suites for feature and performance validation.
Support test team to perform module testing in DVT and manufacturing process.
Maintain software tools and firmware release. Document design, implementation, testing process and report.
Support customer issues and field debug.
