Field Application Engineers are the primary technical resource for the field sales force, and are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the product promotion process, and/or the product verification at the stage of the customer product qualification process. Working in conjunction with the sales/marketing team as the technical advisor and product advocate, the Field Application Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the product promotion and qualification process. The Field Application Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the working cycle.

REPORTS TO: Director, Customer Support

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain expert level of product knowledge and application, especially in the telecom network applications domains such as Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH), Home Networking and/or Fixed Wireless Access, etc.

• Provide design and specification development support to customer’s engineering team.

• Assist in the design and development of new products to make customers comfortable

• Travel to project sites to preform start-up, integration, and training services

• Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives.

• Provide status of ongoing projects and future projects, and coordinate the internal and external resource to support the customer.

• Perform technical/ product training for sales and marketing people and engineers at target accounts.

• Articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.

• Listen, understand and convey customer requirements.

• Support the product management to respond the functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs

• Maintain professional business relationships within target accounts.

JOB REQUIREMENT:

EDUCATION:

BA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent successful experience in telecommunication or data communication industry.

Experience 2 Years in Engineering

A solid understanding of network communications technology – Ethernet, VLAN, TCP/IP, PON, DSL, etc.

A solid understanding of telecom network architecture.

Familiar with popular onsite diagnostics tools, and able to run the test script for the issue debugging.

Strong communication, Interpersonal and organizational skill

Available for Travel 25% or more

EXPERIENCE:

Read the embedded software source code and have a solid understanding of the embedded software system.

Read architectural, mechanical and electrical layout and have a solid understanding of the key functions of the commercial chipset and electrical circuit design

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Visio and Project

Customer Service or Sales Support experience.

Proven Project Management skills.

Reports To: Director of System Engineering

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Residential Networking Device QA Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of product application scenarios and be able to develop and execute test cases to ensure the quality and compatibility of our products. They will also be responsible for tracking and conveying product defects to the appropriate stakeholders. The focus will be on products such as Fiber Modems, Residential Gateways, and Wi-Fi Routers/Mesh devices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Base on residential daily usage, using our Residential Networking products to setup a test house. develop typical live application test cases for different purpose: function test, reliability test, compatible/Interworking test, etc.

• Visit customer’s lab or provide on-site support, collect all necessary facts & logs, summarize the problem and convey the issue to internal supporting team.

• Try to reproduce the customer’s issue; Keep updating status in bug track system. Timely synchronize status with internal supporting team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

• 3+ years of experience in testing CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) devices.

• Strong understanding of home networking application scenarios.

• Experience with the following networking technologies is a plus: GPON/EPON, XGS-PON, MoCA, DSL, VOIP, TR-069.

• Experience in configuring ONUs (Optical Network Units) and OLTs (Optical Line Terminals) is a plus.

• Experience with the following tools is preferred (Wireshark, Jira, Ixia, IxChariot, Spirent Test Center, iPerf3, Speedtest)

• Familiar with typical network protocols: IPv4/IPv6, TCP/UDP, HTTP, SSH/Telnet, NAT, RSTP, RIP, Wi-Fi security.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills (conveying and reporting).

• Experience working with cross-functional teams, to ensure successful project outcomes.
